The most famous among them are Manta Rays, which often gather here when the tide changes, gliding gracefully through the waterways, becoming a diver's dream sight. As you travel through the waterways, the captain slows down in anticipation of catching a glimpse of these magnificent creatures, making every visit full of surprises and memories. The Dugong Waterway is a newly developed water area by the Palau Tourism Bureau. In Malaga Bay, it is the habitat of Palau's world-class protected animal dugongs (commonly known as mermaids). Snorkeling here just requires relaxing. There are various corals in the waterways and if you are lucky you can see dugongs returning to the Bay of Malaga after feeding.
